As Finance Manager, you'll join at a pivotal point in the company's journey.
Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll play a key role in strengthening financial control, enhancing reporting, improving processes and helping build a finance function capable of supporting the next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional finance role.
It's an opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant to broaden their experience, influence business performance and develop into a senior operational finance leader within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial business.
This position is designed for someone who enjoys taking ownership, driving improvements and operating across the full breadth of operational finance.
Working at the heart of the Business Operations function, you'll collaborate with Finance, Vendor Operations, and Data & Systems to improve financial visibility, strengthen controls, and support better decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process across the group, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Own the integrity of the balance sheet across all entities.
- Review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Strengthen financial controls and reporting discipline across the business.
- Support the production of board and investor reporting alongside the Finance Director.
- Coordinate the annual audit process and act as a key contact for external auditors.
- Leadership & Business Partnering
- Support, coach, and develop the finance team.
- Create greater structure, accountability, and consistency across finance operations.
- Partner closely with operational and data teams to improve reporting and commercial insight.
- Provide oversight and quality assurance across financial reporting outputs.
- Drive improvements in finance processes, controls, and automation.
- Improve month-end efficiency and reporting consistency.
- Identify opportunities to enhance operational effectiveness and financial visibility.
- Support integration between finance systems and data-led reporting tools.
- Help develop scalable finance processes that can support continued business growth.
- Cashflow & Commercial Support
- Support cashflow and working capital management.
- Review key balance sheet areas including provisions, accruals, and prepayments.
- Assist with forecasting, financial modelling, and operational performance analysis.
- Partner with the Finance Director on strategic and commercial finance initiatives.
About You
You'll be an ambitious, qualified finance professional looking to step into a broad operational finance role where you'll have genuine influence and room to grow.
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Strong technical accounting experience, including financial controls and month-end reporting.
- Experience within a growing SME, private equity-backed, or high-growth environment is desirable.
- Audit or group accounting exposure would be advantageous but isn't essential.
- Commercially minded and naturally curious.
- Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in the detail.
- Passionate about improving processes and driving change.
- Accountable, organised, and able to work autonomously.
- Collaborative, approachable, and an excellent communicator.
