The successful candidate will be a good all rounder with a can do attitude and a very hands on approach. There is plenty to do and the current Deputy leads on our monthly claims (ties into how we are funded), governance, IT and complaints.
Whilst this is a temporary position (start date August 2026), this is a fantastic opportunity for someone between roles, those looking for a new challenge or seeking to step up and try their hand at management in a general practice (perhaps having worked in one and short of an opportunity to advance) or for a former Deputy or Practice Manager to work a little longer or supplement their pension and so on. Those with GP surgery experience will know how challenging it can be to accommodate demand but also just how rewarding it can be to look after the patients. Roseneath are a highly respected medical practice with 6 GP partners and long tenured nursing, admin and reception staff. We are a successful training practice who look after their staff in a supportive and caring environment.
Main duties of the job
- The successful applicant will be expected to deputise for the Practice Manager (PM) when they are not in the practice (annual leave and each Friday as the PM works full time over 4 days).
- Operate within their knowledge / training or seek assistance from a GP partner when escalation is necessary and the PM is not in the practice.
- With support, submit our monthly claims for any enhanced services performed, for example, Minor Surgery, Contraceptive coils fitted, enhanced monitoring of conditions etc.
- Lead on Governance related items, adhering to policies and procedures, complaints, with support of PM and clinical lead.
- Support day to day operations of the practice.
- IT - helping to keep our staff working and any ongoing project related work (we do link in with a dedicated Welsh IT support desk for more major issues).
- Help with the building - keep it operational.
About us
Roseneath is a partnership of 6 GPs. We are a training practice and have between 2-4 GP Registrars with us at a time and we support Manchester Medical students, and from September will also be supporting students from the newly formed North Wales Medical School based in Bangor. We have hired several former GP Registrars which hopefully, speaks volumes for how we are as an employer.
We have long tenured staff, many of our team have been with us 20 years, a recent retiree 37 years, staff don't tend to leave unless retiring. Staff enjoy working at Roseneath, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, everyone is approachable and we gather at Christmas and to mark significant events during the year.
At the time of listing, we have a full complement of clinical staff, reception and administrators. We have many part time staff who regularly and happily cover each others annual leave and any sickness, so it is fair to say we look out for each other and there is great camaraderie across the entire Roseneath team. Staff are able to join the NHS Pension scheme.
