What you can expect

Due to continued growth, our UK office in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking Industrial Placement Students to join our Integrity Services Group. This is an excellent opportunity for engineering students to gain hands‑on industry experience while contributing to real commercial client projects.

As a placement student, you will support the delivery of technical engineering reports that provide practical solutions to integrity and reliability challenges on pipeline systems. You will also gain valuable exposure to pipeline and process operations across both offshore and onshore industries.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting engineers with the preparation of technical engineering reports
  • Supporting analysis and evaluation of integrity and reliability issues on pipeline systems
  • Working alongside engineers at all levels and across multiple disciplines
  • Contributing to commercial client projects and, where applicable, internal R&D initiatives
  • Developing a practical understanding of engineering within a professional consultancy environment

What you will bring

  • Completion of the second year of a Mechanical Engineering (or related) degree with a mandatory placement year
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent written communication and report‑writing ability
  • Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, word processing and email
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Basic analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • A proactive approach with strong attention to detail

Important note

This role is strictly for students undertaking a 12‑month industrial placement as part of their degree following two years of study. Graduates who have completed their studies will not be considered.
