What you can expect

ROSEN UK is currently recruiting for a Head of IT to manage a small friendly IT Team in an engineering consultancy based in Newcastle upon Tyne. This role would suit an individual who is looking to take the next step in their management career, either having had some previous history as an IT Manager or at supervisor level in a bigger organisational structure.

Reporting into the Head of ROSEN UK, the role is very hands on and varied, and as part of a global team there is opportunity to work on projects with international colleagues. Alongside managing and developing IT colleagues, duties will include organizing and optimizing the administration and support of the IT systems, preparing and monitoring IT budgets for hardware and software, overseeing / supporting local helpdesk activities, and ensuring compliance with all Quality, HSE, and IT security requirements.

What you will bring

Essential skills / experience:

  • Experience in a Team Lead / supervisor or IT Manager position
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An excellent understanding of standard IT technologies, including laptops, phones, desktops, networking, backups, printers and servers
  • Excellent problem solving / trouble shooting skills
  • Current Driving Licence (ROSEN have multiple Newcastle sites)

Desirable skills / experience:

  • Experience in a busy office environment, ideally within a consultancy business
  • VM Ware server and client with Horizon view
  • Understanding or experience of building computers using SCCM
  • Previous history with specialist engineering software

What we offer

  • The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) and permanent
  • Although hybrid working is available, the need to be on site for hardware / software / server room trouble shooting means this role is mainly office based.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including 10% pension contribution, private medical insurance and annual bonus eligibility
  • The role is based at our office on Quorum Park, Newcastle upon Tyne
  • Must be willing and able to travel to satellite offices inNewcastle, our Aberdeen office, or internationally if / when required
