Overview: This position is supporting a young adult, female who has muscular dystrophy, but has good communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance with hoisting, washing/dressing, and daily living tasks. Includes use of a suction machine and other provided equipment as needed.
  • Support with bedroom and study room settings and moving safely between locations (e.g., bedroom to study room).
  • Evening duties include assisting with hoisting and moving back to the bedroom and supporting with bedroom equipment/machines.
  • Ensure safe manual handling and use of all machinery; follow any provided training.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the care environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Flexible availability; 20-24 contracted hours per week (3 hours in the morning, Monday to Friday, and 2 hours in the evening on selected days).
  • There may be additional hours to cover other staff shifts; working times may vary.
  • Training on machinery operation, manual handling, and first aid will be provided to the right applicant.
