Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. Duties
- Provide personalised care to residents, supporting their daily needs with dignity and respect
- Assist with medication administration following care plans and health protocols
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, ensuring adherence to care standards and company policies
- Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Monitor residents\β health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to the management team
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, observations, and incidents
- Support residents with mobility, personal hygiene, nutrition, and emotional wellbeing
- Lead by example in delivering compassionate, professional care at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in senior or specialised care environments, ideally within a care home setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
- Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety regulations, and safeguarding procedures
- Competency in IT systems used for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting transportation needs or errands outside the home
- Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff while maintaining a caring approach
- Organised with excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
