These include Barnbougle Castle, The Walled Garden at Dalmeny, The Water Tower self-catering accommodation, and also moving ahead, Dalmeny House which is currently being restored with a view to opening as a magnificent exclusive use venue with accommodation in late 2027. The portfolio also includes Rosebery House and Rosebery Steading (Gorebridge in Midlothian, on the outskirts of Edinburgh).
As General Manager of Rosebery Estates Venues, you will be commercially accountable for the development and delivery of the estate’s business strategy, budgeting, financial management and operations of the business. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful running of the venues.
This is a hands-on General Manager role which requires the General Manager to enjoy working operationally together with the team.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for providing leadership and encouraging good communication and organisation across all departments, liaising with the in-house venue teams and wider estate team, external caterers and other external suppliers, whilst demonstrating a positive attitude, excellent presentation, and professional manner in all that you do.
You will reflect the Rosebery brand and ethos in your approach to work.
The GM will work closely with and report to the Estate Factor and the Rosebery Estates Board, bringing together all the attributes the estate has to offer to build a truly unique business in keeping with its history and surroundings.
Key skills and experience required:
- Demonstrable experience as a General Manager with hospitality leadership and experience gained in the hotel or exclusive use venue sector
- Robust commercial acumen within the hotel hospitality or exclusive use sector with ability to plan budgets, drive sales and control costs
- Experience of delivering a wide range of events across multiple sectors including corporate, retreats, private celebrations and weddings
- Strong leadership & motivational skills
- A friendly and enthusiastic personality
- Passionate about the operation with a hands-on attitude
- Full driving license
