Your Role:
As a Head Cook you will be the senior kitchen team member responsible for preparing, cooking, and overseeing the presentation of meals in accordance with nutritional standards, dietary requirements, and food safety regulations. You will be responsible for supervising other kitchen staff and help manage the overall workflow of the kitchen. You’ll be responsible for:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals, often from a set menu or dietary plan
- Ensure meals are well-presented, nutritious, and meet specific dietary needs (e.g. low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, pureed diets)
- Oversee daily operations in the kitchen
- Train and support less experienced staff as needed
- Assist with menu development in line with budget and nutritional guidelines
- Follow strict hygiene, health, and food safety standards
- Liaise with care or service managers about dietary requirements
What We’re Looking For:
