Your Role:

As a Laundry Assistant you will ensure residents’ clothing and the home’s linens are cleaned, dried, ironed, and returned in a timely, hygienic, and respectful manner. Your work is vital to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and dignity for the people in our care.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Collect, sort, and wash residents’ personal clothing, bedding, towels, and other laundry items
  • Operate laundry machines (washers, dryers, irons, and presses) safely and efficiently
  • Follow infection prevention and control procedures and use appropriate detergents and chemicals
  • Iron, fold, and return clean items to the correct residents or areas of the home
  • Monitor and report maintenance needs or faults in laundry equipment
  • Work collaboratively with care and housekeeping staff to coordinate laundry needs
