Location: The Ferns, Osborne Gardens, North Shields, Tyne & Wear NE29 9AT.

Hours: 21 hours per week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) – 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm.

Contract: temporary for 9 months with potential extension.

Salary: Β£13.50 per hour.

Job Summary

As an Administrator, you will support administrative functions and ensure smooth operation of our home. You will maintain client records, manage staff schedules, and coordinate communications.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for telephone and in-person enquiries from families, professionals, and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, care plans, and staff schedules.
  • Support the care team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document management.
  • Manage rotas, staff timesheets, and holiday requests in coordination with the care manager.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information in line with GDPR and safeguarding regulations.
  • Order and maintain supplies such as PPE, office equipment, and care materials.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration or Health and Social Care (desirable).
  • Previous administrative experience in a care, healthcare, or similar setting preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and care management systems (e.g., CarePlanner, PASS, or similar).
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and GDPR in a care context.
