Second Cook - Church View Residential Home

Are you an experienced Cook or Junior Cook ready to take your knowledge and experience to the next level? At Roseberry Care, we’re on a mission to provide outstanding, person-centered care—and we’re looking for an individual with strong cooking and kitchen skills to become our new Second Cook.

Salary: £13.00/Hour

Hours: 25.5/week

Your Role:

As a Second Cook you will support the First Cook in the preparation and delivery of meals. This role involves assisting with cooking, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The Second Cook may also take responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the First Cook.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Assist in preparing and cooking meals according to menu plans and dietary needs

• Ensure meals are served on time and presented to a high standard

• Work closely with the 1st Cook to support daily kitchen operations

• Help manage food prep during busy periods

• Assist stock rotation and checking deliveries

• Adhere to all food hygiene, health, and food safety standards

What We’re Looking For:

• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery or equivalent preferred

• Level 2 or 3 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate

• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in Cooking in a similar setting

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed

• Reliable, flexible, and a strong team player
