The Global Accounting Senior Manager is a key member of the controllership organization, reporting directly to the Global Controller. This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle, including cost accounting, intercompany accounting, and accounts payable, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability. This position has responsibility for UK statutory compliance, working closely with external advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
The role is central to building an AI-first finance organization, leveraging advanced tools (including Claude) to automate processes, enhance insight generation, and improve operational efficiency. It also plays a critical role in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, driving process design, standardization, and system adoption.

Key Responsibilities
Record-to-Report (R2R) Leadership
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for global operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and transparency
- Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and balance sheet integrity
- Ensure high-quality and compliant financial reporting in accordance with USGAAP/IFRS (as applicable)
- Drive continuous improvement in close cycle efficiency and quality
Cost Accounting
- Own and enhance cost accounting processes, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis
- Provide insights into cost drivers, manufacturing performance, and margin optimization
- Partner with operations to improve cost visibility and control frameworks
- Support inventory accounting, reserves, and periodic reviews
Accounts Payable & Intercompany Accounting
- Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing, strong controls, and vendor management
- Drive improvements in AP automation, cycle times, and working capital efficiency
- Manage intercompany policy, transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
- Ensure proper documentation, settlement, and alignment across global entities
UK Statutory Compliance & External Advisors
- Own UK statutory compliance and reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate filings
- Partner with external advisors and auditors for statutory accounts, tax filings, and regulatory reporting
- Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements and accounting standards
- Maintain strong documentation and controls to ensure audit readiness
AI Enablement & Digital Transformation
- Promote and execute an AI-first approach within accounting operations
- Leverage AI tools (including Claude) to automate reconciliations, journal entries, variance analysis, and reporting
- Identify and implement automation opportunities across R2R, AP, and intercompany processes
- Develop data-driven insights and anomaly detection capabilities
- Partner with finance and IT teams to embed digitally enabled workflows
ERP Implementation & Systems
- Play a key role in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, including process design, testing, and data validation
- Support data migration, chart of accounts design, and system configuration for R2R processes
- Drive process standardization and simplification aligned with system capabilities
- Ensure successful go-live readiness and post-implementation stabilization
Controls, Compliance & Governance
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with corporate policies requirements
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
- Support internal and external audits and reviews
- Continuously enhance the control environment through automation and standardization
Business Partnering & Insights
- Partner with FP&A and business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making
- Support initiatives to improve cost efficiency, margin, and cash flow
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team (direct or indirect)
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and innovation
- Build capabilities in systems, analytics, and AI-enabled finance operations
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and clear performance expectations
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred)
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting or controllership roles
- Strong experience in record-to-report, cost accounting, and AP processes
- Experience with UK statutory reporting and compliance
- Experience working with external auditors and advisors
- Experience supporting ERP implementations (SAP S/4HANA preferred)
Technical & Leadership Capabilities
- Strong knowledge of US/UK GAAP / IFRS, accounting standards, and compliance requirements
- Deep understanding of R2R processes and financial controls
- Experience with cost accounting in operational or manufacturing environments preferred
- Familiarity with AI tools (including Claude) and their application in finance processes
- Proven ability to drive process improvements, automation, and scalability
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
