About Rosa Mfg Co.
Rosa Mfg Co is an independent menswear brand based in London, built around classic menswear, inspired by vintage, but bringing to a modern audience.
Our inspiration comes almost mostly from the 1930s through to the 1970s.
Classic tailoring, casualwear, workwear, militaria, deadstock, proper construction, and timeless details.
We're not focussed on trends.
The ethos is to make quality garments we hope people will still be wearing decades from now.
Everything is currently made in the UK in small production runs, with fabrics sourced here in the UK and from Japan, Italy.
We're also exploring manufacturing in Portugal, Italy and Japan.
We're still a small operation, which means you'll be involved in almost everything from beginning to end.
The role
You'll be working directly alongside me as the founder, helping across the day-to-day running of the brand.
That could include
- Product development and garment design
- Fabric sourcing and researching mills
- Sampling, fittings and pattern amendments
- Working with manufacturers throughout production
- Preparing products for launches
- Assisting/styling on photoshoots and videoshoots.
- Helping with content creation
- Packaging and fulfilment
- General brand strategy and whatever else needs doing week to week
Some days we'll be discussing new garment designs and ideas, other days we'll be packing orders or chasing suppliers.
You'll be part of the early days of building this brand, and you'll get to experience every part of it.
Who I'm looking for
I'm not looking for someone who's passionate about fashion trends or experimental design.
I'm looking for someone who loves classic, vintage, and heritage menswear.
Someone who gets excited by old workwear, military garments, vintage tailoring, timless and unique fabrics, old manufacturing techniques and the details that most people never notice.
You'll probably spend your spare time looking through old catalogues, going to vintage shops and fleamarkets, visiting markets or collecting reference images.
If words like moleskin, herringbone twill, whipcord, cavalry twill or deadstock fabrics mean something to you, we'll probably get on well.
You should also be
- A fashion or menswear student, or a recent graduate
- Organised and proactive
- Happy working in a small startup where every day is different
- Comfortable taking responsibility and figuring things out
- Based in London or able to travel to the studio
- What you'll get
- Direct mentorship from me throughout the process of building the brand
- A chance to see how an independent menswear brand actually operates
- Flexible working around your studies where possible
- Travel expenses covered
- The opportunity to grow into a paid role as the business keeps growing
How to apply Please don't apply through Linked In.
Instead, send your CV, portfolio (if you have one), and a few lines about yourself to
Along with your application, I'd like you to answer the following questions. There are no right or wrong answers. I'm simply interested in how you think.
If you joined Rosa MFG Co tomorrow, what garment do you think the brand should develop next, and why?
How would it fit within our existing collection, and what would make it distinctly Rosa?
Take a look through our website and Instagram.
If there was one thing you could improve, change, or push further about our existing products or creative direction, what would it be?
Please be honest. I'd much rather hear thoughtful criticism than empty praise.
3. Show me your taste. Recommend three references that you think could inspire the future of Rosa.
These could be
- Vintage garments
- Historical military or workwear pieces
- Tailoring references
- Fabrics or textiles
- Designers or brands
- Books, films, photography, or artwork
Tell me why you chose each one, and what you think Rosa could learn from them.
4. Why Rosa? There are thousands of fashion brands. Why does Rosa interest you specifically, and what do you hope to learn from working here?
Optional (but highly encouraged) If there's a vintage garment, construction detail, pattern, fabric, or piece of clothing you've discovered recently that genuinely excited you, include it in your email.
It could be something obscure you've found in an archive, a military garment, a tailoring detail, a fabric, or simply something you think deserves more appreciation.
Tell me why it caught your attention.
I'd love to see what naturally sparks your curiosity.
Rather than telling me you're passionate about fashion, show me how you think.
I'm looking for someone who's curious, has great taste, pays attention to detail, enjoys researching vintage clothing and construction, and genuinely wants to help build a brand from the ground up.
