The role of Medical Receptionist is to providecomprehensive clerical support to the Practice in a reception andadministrative role.

It involves a high level of confidentiality and use of owninitiative.

The practice opening hours are 08:00 to 18:30 Monday to Friday.

The position will be 3 full days with various working hours of 08.00-17.00 and 08.00-18.30.

Provisional interview dates of 13th August or 17th August

Main duties of the job

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To provide and promote efficient and effective delivery of high quality clerical support to the Primary Health Care Team
  • Dealing with patients and visitors, both face to face and on the telephone
  • Answering the telephone promptly, making appointments, dealing with enquiries and recording of messages for colleagues
  • Recording, filing and retrieval of information
  • Handling of incoming/outgoing mail, including franking
  • Processing prescriptions
  • Photocopying and faxing
  • Dealing with general enquiries from other agencies

This role profile is not exhaustive, and you may be directed to complete other tasks according to the skills and requirements for individual roles.

These duties will always be reasonable and deemed within the expectations of your position.

Experience

  • Good standard of education (GCSE or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of working in an administrative or receptionist role.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Effective time management (Planning & Organising) - working to deadlines and prioritising workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Able to work under pressure.
