About Roots
Roots Allotments builds and runs no dig allotment sites across the UK, giving thousands of people the space to grow their own food. Every site is a community, and our events are where those communities come to life: site socials, growing workshops, seasonal festivals and online member calls.
The role
You will be the person who makes events happen across our whole network. You will own the events calendar end to end: planning what happens where, booking hosts, partners and suppliers, setting budgets and keeping to them, and making sure every event actually runs on the day. You will work closely with our Patch Managers on the ground and our HQ team, and you will use member data to decide what to put on and measure what worked.
What you will do
Own the events calendar across every Roots site, from site socials to workshops to online member calls. Book and manage hosts, partners, venues and suppliers. Set and manage event budgets, and track attendance and feedback so we double down on what members love. Work with Patch Managers to run events on site, and host or co-host flagship events yourself. Recruit and support a network of event hosts across our communities.
What we are looking for
Experience booking and running events end to end, ideally lots of them at once. Brilliant organisation: you close loops, chase details and nothing slips. Warm, clear communication with members, hosts and partners. Comfortable with tools and data: budgets, calendars, attendance numbers. An interest in growing food, the outdoors, or building community.
Based in London with regular travel to our sites across the UK. Interviews are a relaxed 30 minute video chat with Christian, our founder, and Elle from our team.
