Who we are

Mother Root is the Ginger non-alcoholic aperitif. We harness the power of apple cider vinegar to serve up a dose of good feelings. Our mission is to redefine what it means to drink well and feel good - with drinks that are complex, delicious and rooted in nature. Fresh from securing three offers on BBC Dragons’ Den, we’re on an exciting growth journey — scaling from a £7m brand today towards £50m+ in the years ahead, with 230% year-on-year growth already underway. With our small but mighty team, we’re building one of the UK’s fastest-growing non-alcoholic brands, both online and in retail. We’re bold, inclusive and ambitious. We value creativity, curiosity and collaboration — and we believe work should be joyful, purposeful and full of flavour.

The Role

We’re looking for a detail focused and proactive Quality Technologist to join our Technical team and help maintain the highest standards across our products and supply chain. This role is central to ensuring quality, compliance, testing, and technical processes are effectively coordinated in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Working cross-functionally with suppliers, co-manufacturers and internal stakeholders, you’ll help ensure products consistently meet regulatory, customer, and brand standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a highly organised environment and is looking to build their experience within food quality, compliance, and technical operations.

The Way You’ll Do It

  • Manage and maintain raw material and finished product testing schedules across suppliers, co-manufacturers, and internal manufacturing operations.
  • Coordinate sample submissions, monitor testing timelines and results, and escalate any quality or compliance concerns to the relevant technical lead.
  • Support trending analysis and horizon scanning through regular review of quality, testing, and compliance data.
  • Track certification renewal timelines and coordinate annual submissions for existing products.
  • Maintain accurate technical records, specifications, and documentation within internal systems.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across technical and quality processes.
  • Review supplier COAs and release approved materials through internal systems, flagging any out-of-specification results.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience within a quality, technical, coordination, or administrative role; food manufacturing or FMCG experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Confident using Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking, reporting, and schedule management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers, laboratories, and certification bodies.
  • Highly detail-oriented and methodical, with a strong focus on accuracy and record-keeping.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following through independently.
  • An interest in continuous improvement and using technology or AI tools to drive efficiency and streamline administrative processes.
