No two days are exactly the same, and we are looking for someone who enjoys that variety and rises to it.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • You will be the first point of contact for clients visiting or calling the office, greeting people warmly and directing enquiries to the right member of the team.
  • You will manage incoming and outgoing post and emails, maintain accurate client records and filing systems, and assist with the preparation and sending of client correspondence.
  • You will also support the team with scheduling appointments, managing diaries, and coordinating meeting arrangements.
  • General office duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining a tidy and professional working environment, and supporting the team with day to day administrative tasks will all form part of your role.
  • As the practice grows, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and become involved in wider projects across the team.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. The administrative backbone of a busy accounting practice matters more than most people realise, and we need someone who understands that and takes it seriously. As with our apprentice role, attitude comes first. We can train the right person on the specifics of how we work. What we cannot train is reliability, a positive outlook, and a genuine commitment to doing things properly.

The Basics

You will need a good standard of general education, including a solid grasp of written English and basic numeracy. Previous experience in an office or customer facing environment would be helpful, though it is not essential if you can demonstrate the right approach and a willingness to learn quickly.

What Really Matters to Us

We are looking for someone who is organised and calm under pressure, who communicates clearly and professionally whether on the phone, by email, or face to face, and who understands the importance of confidentiality in a professional services environment. Our clients trust us with sensitive information, and everyone in the team, regardless of their role, plays a part in maintaining that trust. You should be comfortable using everyday computer software and confident enough to pick up new systems with a little guidance. A friendly and professional manner is important, as you will often be one of the first points of contact for our clients.

In Summary

If you are dependable, take your work seriously, and want to be part of a team that genuinely values what you bring to it, we would love to hear from you.
