Our client, an established and growing manufacturing organisation, with a focus on sustainability and the environment, has an excellent opportunity for a quality-driven and safety-focused professional to play a key role in maintaining high standards across quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
This is a hands-on, varied role supporting site operations to ensure raw materials, in-process production, and finished products meet regulatory, customer, and company standards. You'll be at the heart of audit readiness, compliance monitoring, continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture. You'll work cross-functionally with production, laboratory, and management teams to drive standards aligned to BRC, ISO, HACCP, and COSHH requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Health, Safety & Environment
- Promote and maintain safe laboratory and site operations.
- Ensure compliance with H&S procedures, PPE standards, and safe working practices.
- Support site risk assessments and COSHH reviews.
- Contribute to health & safety improvements and training initiatives.
- Monitor hygiene standards and environmental KPIs.
- Quality & Compliance
- Support internal audit programmes and conduct assigned audits.
- Assist with preparation for customer and regulatory audits.
- Maintain documentation to ensure audit readiness at all times.
- Support customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.
- Conduct product safety and quality assurance checks.
- Maintain supplier approval records.
- Operational & Performance
- Inspect, sample, test, and report on incoming materials.
- Coordinate laboratory equipment calibration and maintain records.
- Calculate and report KPIs including daily OEE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across site.
What We’re Looking For
- Essential: Previous experience in a Quality, H&S, Environmental, or QHSE role within manufacturing, production, or laboratory environments.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and health & safety requirements.
- Confident IT skills and strong numerical ability.
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Desirable: Experience within a BRC and HACCP environment.
- Exposure to customer audits and supplier approval processes.
- Internal or Lead Auditor certification.
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience using digital systems such as SAP.
