Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract with potential to become permanent

About Us:

Roomytown is a design-led home and gift brand based in Bath, UK. Our collections span home accessories, stationery, games and gifts, combining distinctive archival artwork, colour and thoughtful design. Our products are sold through leading museums, bookstores, department stores and independent retailers across the UK, USA, Canada and Europe, alongside our growing UK/EU and US direct-to-consumer ecommerce businesses.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a creative, commercially minded Social media & E-commerce Executive to join us at an exciting stage of our growth. This is a new, social-media-first role created to help us build and develop our presence across our social channels, while also providing key e-commerce support during our E-commerce Manager’s maternity leave. During the initial 12-month fixed-term contract, you’ll combine ownership of our day-to-day social media activity with responsibility for several important e-commerce and digital marketing activities, including website merchandising, email marketing and working with our paid advertising partners. Looking further ahead, we see significant potential for our social media and wider marketing activity to grow alongside the business. Subject to continued business growth and the future requirements of the team, there may therefore be an opportunity for the role to develop into a permanent position with a broader social media and marketing focus. You'll work closely with our Founder & Creative Director on brand direction and creative storytelling, and with our Director of Sales & Marketing on commercial priorities, campaigns and performance. The role offers flexibility to work remotely, but we would expect this person to spend approximately one to two days per week in our Bath studio. Being close to the team and our products will be an important part of creating authentic, timely social content and capturing the day-to-day life of the Roomytown brand.

What You’ll Be Doing

Social Media & Content

  • Take ownership of the day-to-day social media channels
  • Develop and deliver engaging social content that reflects our brand.
  • Create and manage a social media content calendar.
  • Identify opportunities to grow our audience, engagement, and reach.
  • Create, edit, and coordinate content across relevant platforms
  • Monitor performance and use insights to continually improve our social activity.
  • Keep abreast of social media trends, platform developments, and emerging opportunities.
  • Act as the day-to-day internal contact for our paid media agency across Meta, Google and Pinterest, coordinating creative assets and campaign priorities and participating in monthly performance reviews.
  • Dedicate focused time each day to community engagement, responding to comments and messages and proactively connecting with relevant creators, retailers, designers and like-minded brands to build an active community around Roomytown.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to support product launches, campaigns, and key trading periods.

Ecommerce & Digital Marketing

During our Ecommerce Manager’s maternity leave, the role will also provide cover across key areas of Roomytown’s D2C ecommerce and digital marketing activity, including:

  • Manage and merchandise Roomytown’s UK and US Shopify websites, ensuring products, imagery, pricing, navigation and promotional content are accurate, engaging and up to date.
  • Support seasonal campaigns, product launches and key trading periods, identifying opportunities to improve traffic, conversion, average order value and repeat purchase.
  • Own D2C email marketing through Klaviyo, including campaign planning and creation, automated flows, testing and performance optimisation.
  • Manage and optimise Roomytown’s D2C marketplace presence, including Etsy, ensuring listings are accurate, visually strong and SEO optimised.
  • Monitor ecommerce and digital marketing performance, using key metrics and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and improve the customer journey.
  • Manage Shopify apps and integrations and support ongoing improvements to website functionality, SEO and customer experience.
  • Provide thoughtful D2C customer service across Shopify, Etsy and social channels, ensuring a consistently high-quality Roomytown experience.
  • Monitor performance across social, ecommerce and email using Shopify, Google Analytics, Klaviyo and platform insights, producing a concise monthly dashboard with clear, data-led recommendations to inform future activity.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is social-media savvy, creative and commercially aware, but who is also comfortable working across the broader digital customer journey.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Hands-on experience managing social media channels for a consumer or lifestyle brand.
  • Strong content creation and copywriting skills.
  • An understanding of what drives engagement and growth across social platforms.
  • Experience of e-commerce, website merchandising, or digital marketing.
  • Experience creating email marketing campaigns.
  • Confidence working with external agencies and partners.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage several priorities at once.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a genuine interest in helping a growing brand develop.

Experience within a design, interiors, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, gifting or similarly visually led consumer brand would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This position is initially offered on a 12-month fixed-term basis and will include covering key e-commerce responsibilities during our E-commerce Manager’s maternity leave. Alongside this, social media and content are areas in which we intend to continue investing as we grow. While we cannot guarantee a permanent position at the end of the fixed term, our intention is to review the role as the business develops, with the potential for it to evolve into a permanent, broader social media and marketing position subject to business performance, growth, and the future requirements of the team. If you’re excited by the opportunity to make a real impact within a growing brand and help shape how we show up across social, digital and e-commerce, we’d love to hear from you.
