Your Role
As Head of HR & Legal, you’ll be at the heart of our culture and lead all things people and legal – from building a great employee experience to ensuring we stay aligned with employment laws and regulations. You’ll work closely with the leadership team, serve as a sparring partner on strategic topics, and help shape a work environment where everyone can thrive. If you\’re someone who combines empathy with business acumen, we can\’t wait to meet you.
Your Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of our HR functions with coverage of HR legal topics on the side – and help us build smart, scalable structures that grow with the company.
- Act as a strategic partner in developing effective and future-proof people policies and frameworks (such as levelling frameworks, global compensation and benefits planning, and performance management).
- Build and continuously improve HR operations from the ground up.
- Drive the development of structured management enablement and performance practices that support first-time and experienced leaders.
- Support and empower our small but passionate HR team, fostering growth, knowledge-sharing, and best practices; with the goal to grow the team as the company grows.
- Collaborate closely with the leadership team to shape and implement a people strategy aligned with our business goals.
- Ensure we stay compliant with employment law and regulations – with hands-on support from external legal partners where needed.
- Oversee the full employee lifecycle – from hiring and onboarding to development, retention, and offboarding.
- Be the go-to person for team-wide HR questions, offering clarity and practical solutions.
- Own and continuously improve our HR policies, employment contracts, and organizational frameworks.
- Lead cultural and people-driven initiatives that strengthen trust, transparency, and inclusion.
- Handle sensitive employee relations topics with care, professionalism, and discretion.
Your Profile
- C2-level English proficiency: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with partners and internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree or legal qualification is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in HR roles, ideally in a scale-up or international environment.
- You have strong experience in building foundational HR operations, performance structures, and internal communications – not just maintaining them.
- You’ve worked in environments where you’ve seen what excellent, mature HR operations look like – and know how to scale toward that vision pragmatically.
- You bring a “builder mindset”: you\’re hands-on, execution-focused, and comfortable getting things done without needing polished blueprints.
- You combine strategic HR thinking with a strong bias for action and operational excellence, bringing structure and clarity without leaning too heavily on pure HRBP or consultant-style approaches.
- Deep understanding of labor law, employment regulations, and compliance-related topics.
- Experience leading teams or stepping into a strategic people leadership role.
- You understand how to align legal frameworks with a people-first culture.
- You’re tech-savvy and comfortable using modern HR tools to simplify workflows.
- A strategic thinker with a heart for people and a head for detail.
Nice to Have
- Experience with international HR and legal matters, including cross-border hiring processes.
- Proficient in using modern HR tools such as Ashby and CultureAmp to streamline people operations.
- Strong interest in employment law and internal legal topics like NDAs and intellectual property.
