Your Role

  • As an Engineering Manager in the Customer Journey team, you’ll help shape the way we build, learn, and deliver impact to our users.
  • You’ll manage a multidisciplinary team of backend and frontend engineers, empowering them to ship high‑quality features that improve user activation, engagement, and retention.
  • This is a hands‑on leadership role, ideal for someone with experience managing engineers and eager to continue growing their management craft.
  • You’ll keep a technical presence, spending time coding, reviewing, or pairing while driving clarity, focus, and technical excellence across the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a talented team of engineers working across backend, frontend, and data layers.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, testing, and quality, ensuring features are robust, scalable, and measurable.
  • Drive the delivery of impactful projects, from ideation to production and iteration, in partnership with Product and Design.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to raise the bar and help engineers grow in design thinking, architecture, and cross‑stack collaboration.
  • Actively participate in hiring engineers.
  • Maintain technical involvement, reviewing code, contributing to architecture discussions, and occasionally coding.
  • Improve engineering processes to drive velocity, alignment, and clear communication.
  • Collaborate with other engineering managers and the Senior EM to strengthen team structure, knowledge sharing, and engineering culture.
  • Champion data‑informed decisions, ensuring the team has the right feedback loops to measure success.

Your Profile

  • Solid experience as a Software Engineer, building and maintaining production systems while still going deep technically.
  • 1–2 years of experience managing engineers, including one‑on‑ones and leading delivery.
  • Experience in a high‑growth or scaling company is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving clarity, and helping teams adapt as the organisation evolves.
  • Strong understanding of system design, architecture, and engineering best practices across backend, frontend, and data contexts.
  • Strong product collaboration mindset, enjoying work closely with PMs and Designers to define problems, validate solutions, and measure outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, inspiring trust, clarity, and accountability.
  • A servant leader: empathetic, organised, and passionate about helping people do their best work.
  • Comfortable balancing technical depth with people leadership and delivery outcomes.
  • Fluent in English and based in the European time zone (UTC+0 / UTC+2).
