Due to continued company expansion and growth, our established and thriving client is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader to join their team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the production and assembly area while leading, motivating and supporting a small team.

Reporting directly to the Warehouse & Production Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring production schedules are achieved, quality standards are maintained and KPI targets are met.

This role requires someone who is happy to lead by example, working alongside the team carrying out production, assembly and machine operating duties as required.

This is a full-time position, and our client is looking to recruit on either a permanent or temporary-to-permanent basis, depending on the successful candidate's availability.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (fully onsite)

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (depending on experience, with flexibility for the right candidate).

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the production team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day manufacturing and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise and motivate a small production and assembly team to achieve daily production targets.
  • Organise and prioritise workloads to ensure production schedules and customer deadlines are met.
  • Work hands-on within the production department, including machine operation, assembly and manufacturing duties.
  • Operate production machinery safely and efficiently, ensuring products meet required quality standards.
  • Carry out detailed assembly work, including gluing, fitting and assembling components with a high level of accuracy.
  • Monitor production output, quality and efficiency, taking corrective action where required.
  • Train, mentor and support new and existing team members to maintain high performance standards.
  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times and promote a safe working environment.
  • Liaise with the Warehouse & Production Manager regarding production progress, stock requirements and any operational issues.
  • Assist with machine set-up, basic maintenance and troubleshooting where appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient production area.
  • Support warehouse operations and stock movement when required.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within production processes and team performance.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a Production Team Leader, Manufacturing Team Leader or Supervisory role within a production or assembly environment.
  • Hands-on experience operating production machinery and carrying out assembly work.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet production deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.
  • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, including standing for long periods and undertaking manual handling duties.
  • Positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
