The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) CNS engages with Scientific Leaders (SLs) / Key Decision Makers (KDMs), drives scientific initiatives and provides medical and strategic support to the cross-functional team.
The MSL will cover UK/Ireland.
The therapeutic area will primarily regard neurology and specifically the migraine area but may also include support of other therapeutic areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a global pharmaceutical organisation based in London.
This is a remote role, working 37.5 hours and will cover UK and Ireland so there will be some travel involved – approximately 1 to 3 times a year.
The position is a temporary PAYE contract role to start in August 2026 until January 2027 with a possible extension and offers an hourly rate of £24.62 - £41.54, plus 25 days holiday pro-rata (£48,009 - £81,003 FTE per annum) depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Engagement with External Leaders
- Engage in non-promotional, peer-to-peer exchange of medical and scientific information with SLs or KDMs to the extent permitted by law and local regulation, local industry codes, and other provisions of the Guiding Principles for Ex-US GMA External Stakeholder-Facing Activities.
- Gain deep insights into disease, therapeutic area and healthcare needs, data gaps and challenges in their local geography.
- Representing Medical Affairs at local or regional non-promotional medical events (e. g.
Medical Congresses and Symposia) may collaborate in the coordination of pre-event scientific information and post-event scientific summaries.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, pipeline or marketed product information or indications from SLs or KDMs, utilizing appropriate approved scientific materials.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for information on company research and/or grant activities by directing SLs or KDMs to appropriate company resources for grants, sponsored clinical trial involvement, and outcomes research.
- Organize and participate in medical and scientific exchange activities, which include but are not limited to hospital lectures, journal clubs, expert input forums, and advisory boards — may take the role as presenter.
- Share, on a reactive basis, the publicly available areas of interest with SLs and direct them to the appropriate resources for further information.
- Provide medical/scientific support, including written documentation and/or verbal interactions for Health Technology Assessments and formulary decisions, following the principles of scientific exchange as outlined in the Guiding Principles for Ex-US GMA External Stakeholder-Facing Activities.
- Conduct country Advisory Boards and Expert Input Forums in line with the strategy.
- Internal Support
- Support Medical Affairs Plans development and implement its activities.
- Provide insights on scientific gaps, ideas and other topics gathered from scientific exchange to inform areas of interest, development programs, and company strategy.
- Support company commercial colleagues by providing on-label or disease state scientific training, when requested and where allowed.
- Provide scientific support to patient access programs.
- Support the identification of potential study investigators for sponsored studies, at the request of the clinical trials organization personnel.

- Strong scientific baseline knowledge in assigned therapeutic area(s).
- Strong knowledge about clinical trial methods, implementation, and data interpretation.
- Sound scientific understanding, and eagerness to continue learning about a specific therapeutic area.
- Ability to present scientific and other technical information with confidence, in a way that engenders trust and credibility.
- Excellent communication skills, including listening and probing skills, across a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to function within a team environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and work under pressure.
Qualifications
- Medical degree, Ph D in health sciences, Pharm D or equivalent Life Sciences degree
- At least 2 years’ field medical experience as an MSL or equivalent
- Fluent in English
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentations) and interpersonal skills
- Experienced in scientific exchange and contacts with health care professionals
Excellent team player and strong collaboration skills and ability to function within a cross functional team environment
- Excellent project management skills and planning skills
- Scientific knowledge of the therapeutic area is a plus
