We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hands-on Assembly and Production Operator to join our client’s friendly production team based in Hoddesdon. This is a versatile role suited for someone with a background in engineering or manufacturing who enjoys a mix of technical machine operation and physical workshop duties. Our client would also consider trainee candidates looking for an opportunity to learn and develop within the role. You will play a key part in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high quality and safety standards. The role is a full-time permanent position working from 7am – 4.30pm with a 30-minute break, Monday – Friday and offers a competitive rate of pay, plus generous holiday entitlement and an opportunity to work within a supportive and well-organised production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate Pillar drills and small air-operated assembly machinery.
  • Technical Finishing: Perform precision metal polishing and ensure products meet quality specifications.
  • Maintenance: Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance of workshop machinery to ensure smooth operation.
  • Logistics & Dispatch: Assist with packing finished goods and the loading/unloading of lorries.
  • Safety & Organisation: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven background in a manufacturing or engineering environment, although our client would also consider trainee candidates who are looking to secure a long-term role within manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Competency with hand tools and basic machinery (specifically Pillar drills) preferred, but training can be provided.
  • Physical Fitness: Able to handle the physical demands of loading/unloading and standing for extended periods.
  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, a proactive attitude toward problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
