Practice Nurse in Aberford

Job Summary

Rooley Lane Medical Centre, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD4 7SS. Part‑time Practice Nurse – friendly, enthusiastic, highly motivated. 24‑25 hours per week, starting September 2026 (or soon after). Desired availability: Monday–Friday with at least one day finishing by 6:00pm.

Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration, accredited training in Chronic disease management of Diabetes and Respiratory, up‑to‑date childhood immunisation and travel vaccination training, and high level of clinical nursing skills including wound care.

Main Duties

• Travel (essential)
• Venepuncture (essential)
• Provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education and advice to patients.
• Work within the whole practice team and third‑party health care professionals.
• Adhere to the UKCC Code of Conduct, practice protocols and guidance.

Experience (Essential)

• High level of IT skills (MS Office, internet).
• Competent in basic nursing skills, e.g., phlebotomy, blood pressure taking.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to perform under pressure.

Experience (Desirable)

• Experience using System One.
• Experience working in a GP Practice Team.
• Keen to develop with the existing team.

Qualifications (Essential)

• RGN Qualification and current NMC registration.
• Accredited training in Chronic disease management of Diabetes and Respiratory.
• Up‑to‑date childhood immunisation training and travel vaccination training.
• High level of clinical nursing skills including wound care.

Qualifications (Desirable)

• Accredited training in full spirometry and CHD.
• Qualified in cervical cytology.
• Qualified in Ear irrigation.

UK Registration

Applicants must have current UK professional registration.

Working Hours and Reporting

24–25 hours per week, ideally Monday–Friday 5 hours per day, but may consider 6 hours over 4 days, including working Wed–Fri and one other day. Reports to GP Partners/Practice Manager.
