RCB Ltd are an Industrial roofing company with over 30 years' experience, operating from Southampton. We have a vacancy for a Contract Manager that has experience in the industrial roofing sector. This would suit either an existing proven Contracts Manager, an Assistant Contract Manager, or a Site Supervisor/Site Manager looking to advance to a Contract Manager position.
The job role includes:
- Contract Negotiation & Setup: Reviewing and negotiating projects including scope of work and specifications.
- Planning & Scheduling: Adhering to site issued programmes, organizing labour, plant, and material requirements.
- Documentation: Preparing and maintaining all project documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Involved in preparing estimates, monitoring project budgets, tracking costs to ensure projects meet financial targets.
- Variations & Invoicing: Documenting and agreeing on additional works (variations) in writing, devising monthly valuation and invoices in a timely manner in accordance with contractual dates.
- Procurement: Organising the timely delivery of materials and subcontractors.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring all work conforms to specifications, drawings, and manufacturer requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to Health & Safety (H&S) regulations, including conducting site audits, toolbox talks, and implementing safety policies (e.g., CDM 2015).
- Site Inspections: Visiting sites regularly to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Client & Supplier Management: Acting as the main point of contact for clients, architects, surveyors, and suppliers to maintain relationships and ensure satisfaction.
- Team Leadership: Supervising and motivating site staff, subcontractors, and foreman.
- Reporting: Providing regular updates on project status to senior management or the Operations Manager.
The Ideal candidate would have:
- Experience: Experience in roofing, cladding, or building envelope refurbishment and able to read project drawings.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding all types of metal roofing systems including single-ply and liquid systems. Good knowledge of Health and Safety and CDM regulations.
- Certifications: Ideally have a minimum of CSCS cards, SMSTS or SSSTS.
- Attributes: Good organisational skills, able to multitask across multiple projects at one time, good leadership skills, driving license, and the ability to work at heights.
Package: Salary depending on experience plus bonus. Benefits include a company vehicle, mobile phone, free on-site parking, 25 days holiday (keeping five for Christmas shut down) plus bank/public holidays.
