The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Business Development Manager to join our team to build relationships and increase sales within the builders’ merchant sector. This is a field-based role focused on building strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities. Working closely with our branches and experienced sales team, you will help drive sales growth across the region and ensure customers receive the highest level of service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Builders’ Merchants within the area
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within South West & Wales
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts
- Regularly visit customers on-site and at their premises
- Promote Roofbase products, services and special offers
- Prepare and follow up quotations and sales opportunities
- Work closely with branch teams to maximize sales and customer service
- Monitor local market activity and competitor movements
- Resolve customer enquiries and issues promptly and professionally
- Achieve agreed sales and margin targets
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience in a sales, account management or business development role
- Experience within roofing, construction, builders’ merchants or building materials preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A proactive approach to winning and developing business
- Good IT skills and experience using CRM systems
- Full UK driving licence
