- Title: Yard Manager Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday Friday, 7am4pm The Role You will be responsible for: Day to day running and organisation of the yard.
Monitoring upcoming jobs and ensuring required stock is available.
Maintaining accurate stock levels and ordering requirements in good time.
Checking deliveries and ensuring products are correctly stored and allocated.
Preparing the correct products for each job.
Managing goods in/out, deliveries and collections.
Keeping the yard organised, safe and efficient.
Assessing and selling suitable second hand VELUX windows, surplus stock and accessories.
Identifying slow moving stock and finding ways to maximise its value.
Supporting and leading the yard team.
Lean & Continuous Improvement Reduce wasted time, errors and unnecessary work.
Improve stock organisation and processes.
Make systems easier for yourself and your team.
Solve recurring problems.
Improve efficiency, safety and standards.
What You'll Need Previous yard, warehouse, construction, manufacturing or building supplies experience.
Stock management experience.
Team leader/supervisory experience desirable.
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
Strong problem solving skills and initiative.
Good understanding of health and safety.
Forklift experience/certification advantageous.
Customer and supplier experience desirable.
