We’re working with an established FinTech business in Newcastle that is looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join its growing team.This is a hands-on engineering role focused on strengthening QA capability through automation, AI-assisted testing and continuous improvement.You’ll build, maintain and execute automated UI and API test suites, helping to improve software quality, reduce repetitive manual testing and support faster, more confident software delivery.Working closely with Product, Engineering, QA and other internal stakeholders, you’ll help identify testing risks, investigate defects and ensure testing remains aligned with delivery priorities.Please note, this is a hybrid role in Newcastle.What You’ll Be Doing:Design, maintain and execute automated UI and API tests using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or equivalent frameworksUse AI-assisted testing tools to support test creation, maintenance, failure analysis, defect triage and regression risk identificationWrite clear, reliable and maintainable test codeRun automated tests through CI/CD pipelinesDebug failing tests and identify issues across products, tests, data and environmentsMaintain stable, relevant and efficient regression test suitesReview requirements and technical changes to identify test scenarios, edge cases and automation opportunitiesInvestigate and clearly document defectsUse test results, defect trends and pipeline feedback to identify improvements to QA practicesCollaborate closely with Product, Engineering and QA teamsWhat We’re Looking For:Hands-on experience building and maintaining automated UI and API testsExperience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or similarPractical experience using AI-assisted testing toolsExperience writing maintainable test codeKnowledge of source control, pull requests and code reviewsExperience running automated tests within CI/CD pipelinesStrong understanding of regression testing, test data and test environmentsStrong knowledge of QA practices, test design and defect managementExperience working within Agile delivery teamsStrong attention to detail and a proactive approach to improving automation and QA practicesFor more information, apply now!Location:Newcastle upon TyneTyne and WearNewcastle upon TyneNE12 8BXSalary:40000 - 55000Sector:Testing Type:PermanentPosted:10/12/2026
