A fast-growing, tech-driven utilities company is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to shape their cloud strategy and lead their platform engineering team. The role combines leadership, security, and automation, supporting a cloud-first approach with an emphasis on Azure while maintaining cloud-agnostic capabilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and mentor a small platform engineering team.
- Define and implement a secure cloud platform strategy.
- Manage supplier relationships and budget forecasts.
- Drive DevSecOps best practices and enhance cloud security initiatives.
- Design CI/CD pipelines and automation-first infrastructure.
- Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency and security.
- Provide enterprise-level authentication security expertise.
- Support out-of-hours deployments as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and Cloud Native Infrastructure, with a focus on Azure.
- 3+ years in Cloud Security and DevSecOps.
- Expertise in Kubernetes (Azure), Azure DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
- Strong coding skills in C# and experience with .NET Core/.NET 8.
- Experience with Azure CAF, ELZ, and well-architected frameworks.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python, YAML).
- Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
- AWS experience is a plus for business continuity planning.
