We're working with an established software company looking to add an experienced Test Engineer to their growing QA team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an Agile development environment where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality software across web, desktop and mobile applications. You'll work closely with developers and product teams, combining manual and automated testing to ensure software is delivered to the highest standard. Please note this role requires 3 days a week in their office in Newcastle.

The Role

  • Executing manual, functional, regression and automated testing
  • Developing and maintaining automated test suites
  • Identifying, logging and tracking software defects
  • Collaborating with developers and stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Setting up and maintaining Windows and Linux test environments
  • Supporting continuous improvements to testing processes and quality standards

What We're Looking For:

  • Commercial experience in a Software Test Engineer or QA role
  • Experience testing web, desktop and mobile applications
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Cypress, Playwright or Postman
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience investigating issues using APIs, logs and database queries
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • A proactive attitude and passion for software quality
  • Computer Science (or similar) degree
