AI Engineer
Salary: Up to £85,000
Location: Fully remote – UK
The Role
We’re looking for an AI Engineer to build and deliver AI-powered features for a large-scale enterprise SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to turn ideas into reliable, production-ready solutions that improve the user experience.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys experimenting with AI, building prototypes and taking them through to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and deploy AI-powered features from prototype to production.
- Develop LLM integrations, agents, tool use and orchestration workflows.
- Build and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
- Work with Product and Engineering to identify meaningful AI opportunities.
- Contribute to AI development practices, internal tooling and technical decisions.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs, using tools such as OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain or LlamaIndex.
- Strong backend development skills, ideally with TypeScript and Node.js.
- Full-stack experience, with some familiarity with React.
- Experience with REST APIs, asynchronous programming and databases.
- Understanding of software testing, deployment and production-ready development.
- A practical, hands-on approach to AI experimentation and AI-assisted coding.
Desirable Experience
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI agents.
- AWS, particularly Lambda, SQS/SNS, Bedrock or S3.
- Vector databases, embeddings and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Prompt engineering and LLM evaluation.
- Docker, CI/CD and multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- AI safety, governance and responsible AI practices.
