Overview
As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing transportation strategies and schedules to ensure timely, cost-effective, and sustainable movement of goods or people. Must be CPC Qualified.
Responsibilities
- Administration of all lorry Tachographs including downloading reports and logging.
- All Vehicle Insurance updates; adding/removing and liaising with Company Insurers.
- Arranging all Vehicle Tax changes.
- Completing accident report forms.
- Purchase order processing in line with Company Procedure, checking and authorising incoming invoices.
- All machinery/vehicle reports, including monitoring hours and arranging services, repairs and oil sample reports.
- Oversee Fire Suppression Systems and servicing.
- Administration of Rectification Reports, allocate charges to appropriate departments, update maintenance reports/records and file.
- Liaise with Bureau Veritas with regards to vehicle/machinery/attachments inspections in line with Company Insurance Procedure and facilitate any repairs required.
- Any new machinery attachments updates to inhouse master list, files created and logged.
- Month end reports for Skip Rental Charges, tyre costs and maintenance charges.
- Ticketing input of various waste products taken out e.g., Green Waste, Plasterboard, Asbestos, Glass etc.
- O license – add/remove lorries + trailers – Check OCRS score. MOTs booked in for all company fleet, servicing, repairs, oils and lubricants.
- Routing of Roro’s, Tippers, Road Sweeper, Pick Up lorry.
- Answering calls / email requests for skips and Roro’s.
- Daily reports from drivers and advise of any deficits to company fitters/mechanics.
- Quarterly Driving License checks for any endorsements.
- License checks, driver cards, ADR, CPC checks for all HGV Drivers to make sure all up to date.
- Arrange any courses that the drivers need such as CPC’s.
- Some Human Resource duties undertaken e.g., hiring/firing, driver training, record keeping, Inductions and assessments, staff holiday requests and pay queries.
- Periodic vehicle checks, inside and out, Sat Nav Records, height measuring. Checks on Drivers making sure all Skips and Roro’s delivered are documented with pictures.
