We’re looking for an experienced Transport Controller / Manager to run day‑to‑day fleet operations at our busy Rotherham transport yard.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Manage daily transport operations and vehicle routing (RoRo, tippers, sweepers, pickups)
- Ensure full compliance with O‑Licence, CPC, tachograph, and driver legislation
- Administer vehicle tachographs, MOTs, servicing, repairs, and inspections
- Maintain vehicle insurance, tax, and licensing records
- Coordinate with drivers, mechanics, insurers, and inspection bodies
- Monitor vehicle and machinery maintenance, defects, and rectification reports
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and month‑end cost reports
- Handle skip and RoRo bookings via phone and email
- Maintain accurate records for drivers, vehicles, and waste movements
- Carry out driver licence checks, CPC monitoring, and training arrangements
- Support basic HR processes such as inductions, training records, and holiday requests
- Complete accident reports and maintain safety documentation
Key Requirements:
- HGV fleet and driver management experience
- Strong knowledge of O‑Licence and transport compliance
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
