About the Role

An exciting opportunity for a driven Area Sales Manager to join a market-leading roofing manufacturer during a period of significant investment and growth. This is an external, field-based role covering the South East, focused on developing strong relationships with builders’ merchants, house builders, and roofing contractors.

This is a relationship-led sales position, not specification-driven, ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, growing accounts, and winning new business in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of merchant, house builder, and contractor accounts
  • Identify and win new business opportunities across the South East
  • Promote a full product range using a consultative, solutions-focused approach
  • Support customers throughout the project lifecycle, from initial discussions to delivery
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and sales pipeline reporting
  • Monitor competitor activity and regional market trends
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure excellent service and delivery
  • Represent the business at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities

About You

  • Proven experience in external sales, within construction or building materials
  • Experience selling into merchants, subcontractors, or house builders
  • Commercially astute, confident negotiating and closing deals
  • Strong relationship-builder with a proactive, resilient mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable with regular travel across the South East
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to long-term customer relationships
