The Company
Our client is a long-standing manufacturer of premium clay roof tiles and facing bricks, supplying merchants, contractors, and specifiers across the UK for many years. Known for the quality and craftsmanship of their products, they support projects ranging from new-build developments to heritage restorations. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their internal sales team with an experienced Internal Sales Executive.
The Role
Based at their Birmingham site, you'll be the first point of contact for customers calling or emailing in, managing the full sales process from enquiry through to order fulfilment. You'll work closely with the external sales team, production, and logistics to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer, while looking for opportunities to grow accounts through upselling and cross-selling.
What you'll be doing
- Handling inbound sales enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
- Processing customer orders accurately, from quotation through to delivery
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with merchants, contractors, and specifiers
- Providing product advice and technical information to customers
- Liaising with the external sales team, production, and logistics to ensure smooth order fulfilment
- Following up on quotes and identifying opportunities to upsell or cross-sell
- Maintaining accurate customer records on the CRM/order system
- Resolving customer queries and complaints efficiently
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in an internal sales or customer service role, ideally within construction, building materials, or a related industry
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Strong administrative and organisational abilities
- Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
