Job Description

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve the Performance Marketing Analytics data domain.

You'll help create the curated data layer that powers marketing analytics, attribution, campaign measurement, and business reporting across Entain's global brands.

Working with Performance Marketing Analysts, Data Engineers, and partners, you'll develop trusted data products.

You'll also integrate data from multiple marketing and business systems.

Furthermore, you'll ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our marketing data platform.

Your work will directly support data-driven decision-making and investment optimisation across our performance marketing activities.

As the team evolves, you will improve our AI-augmented data product strategy — helping us build next-generation marketing intelligence capabilities on top of the Snowflake AI stack.

  • Main responsibilities
  • Design scalable dbt data models across the medallion architecture (Staging → Intermediate → Marts) for the Performance Marketing Data Mart.
  • Lead the marketing costs data layer — cross-platform spend models spanning Meta, Google, and new paid channels.
  • Enforce code quality, testing (dbt tests, Great Expectations), and documentation standards across all models.
  • Establish and manage development environments for the data platform.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git Lab to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
  • Implement engineering best practices including code reviews, version control, and technical debt management.
  • AI-Augmented Data Development
  • Use AI tools to accelerate data product development and team velocity.
  • Develop AI-assisted data products, including semantic layers, intelligent alerting, and LLM-powered analytics features.
  • Evaluate new AI tooling within the Snowflake ecosystem and increase adoption of patterns that deliver measurable productivity gains.
  • Contribute to the team's roadmap for AI-native data capabilities in performance marketing analytics.
  • Data Operations and Reliability
  • Monitor pipeline projects to ensure, accurate, and reliable data delivery.
  • Set up alerting, incident management, and SLAs for marketing data operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform incidents quickly to minimize business disruption.
  • Tooling & Integration
  • Manage and increase Fivetran connectors for ad platform and MMP data ingestion (Meta, Google, Apps Flyer).
  • Support integration of BI, monitoring, and orchestration tools within the platform.
  • Implement observability and logging solutions for platform reliability.
  • Support reverse ETL workflows connecting the data warehouse to downstream marketing platforms.
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure understanding of Entain data governance and compliance policies.
  • Document operational procedures, platform configurations, and security controls.
  • Be a team liaison with procurement, infrastructure, and security teams for platform-related topics.
  • Work with BI developers, analysts, and data engineers to ensure the platform supports their evolving needs.
  • Provide guidance on query optimization, cost efficiency, and secure data access.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture of engineering excellence.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, data platform operations, or related roles.
  • Expert‑level Snowflake proficiency: 2+ years of hands‑on experience covering setup, administration, security, warehouse management, performance tuning, and cost management.
  • Expert SQL skills with a command of experience approaching a problem from different angles, analyzing pros and cons of different solution patterns (window functions, CTEs, incremental logic).
  • Solid experience with dbt Core for data transformation — building, testing, documenting, and maintaining production dbt models.
  • Hands‑on experience with modern data stack components: cloud data warehouses, ELT tooling, and orchestration platforms.
  • Familiarity with paid marketing data ecosystems: ad platform APIs (Meta, Google), MMP data (Apps Flyer, Adjust), attribution models, and campaign data structures.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent).
  • Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted data development tools — Snowflake Cortex, Claude Code. Candidates who have built end‑to‑end data products using LLM tooling.
  • Experience with dbt development environment.
  • Familiarity with Fivetran for data ingestion and reverse ETL patterns.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline management (preferably Git Lab) for data and analytics workloads.
  • Python proficiency for scripting, automation, or operational tooling.
  • Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration frameworks.
  • Background in performance marketing analytics, campaign measurement, or attribution modeling.
