Port Cleaner
Location: Tilbury, RM18 8UL Pay: £15.52 per hour, including holiday pay, paid weekly Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm Contract: Full-time, temporary to permanent Start date: 1 October 2026
We are looking for a reliable, experienced cleaner to work within a customs and border control environment in Tilbury. You will help maintain clean, safe and welcoming facilities while following strict security and access requirements.
Key responsibilities
Clean offices, communal areas, washrooms and designated secure areas.
Carry out scheduled cleaning and respond promptly to additional cleaning needs.
Follow site security, access-control and confidentiality procedures.
Use cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
Keep cleaning logs and compliance records accurate and up to date.
Report hazards, maintenance issues, incidents and security concerns promptly.
Work professionally and respectfully around border control staff, visitors and ongoing operations.
Essential requirements
Current or previously held CTC clearance.
Previous professional cleaning experience.
Ability to complete enhanced police and government vetting.
A full, verifiable employment and address history.
A reliable approach to work, with high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
Right to work in the UK.
