Site Engineer - Civils Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Salary: £33,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE) Package: Car Allowance + Benefits Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our civils team delivering infrastructure and groundworks projects across the North East. Reporting to the Civils Construction Manager, you will be responsible for setting out works, coordinating site activities, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities * Set out works in accordance with drawings and specifications. * Supervise site operatives, trainee engineers and subcontractors. * Ensure works are completed safely, on programme and to the required quality standards. * Manage quality records for drainage, concrete, paving and surfacing works. * Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors. * Maintain site documentation, drawings and technical records. * Assist with RAMS, Health & Safety compliance and quality procedures. * Liaise with clients, designers, suppliers and project teams. * Support project reporting, valuations and project handovers. * Identify opportunities for value engineering and continuous improvement. * Mentor junior team members and support their development. Qualifications & Experience * Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. * Previous experience within civil engineering or construction projects. * Working towards or holding professional membership (ICE or equivalent). * Strong technical and setting out knowledge. * Good commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * Ability to work independently and solve problems effectively.
