Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager / Site Manager for a project based in Cambridge. This role will combine project management and hands-on site management responsibilities, ensuring the successful delivery of M&E works from initiation through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical works on site
- Provide administrative support and coordination for all M&E project activities
- Liaise closely with subcontractors to ensure readiness and timely commencement of works
- Manage subcontractor requirements and hold them accountable for performance and deliverables
- Lead early engagement processes, including planning and programming of works
- Review, obtain, and monitor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
Project Phasing
- Initial 3–4 weeks: Heavily project management focused, including planning, coordination, and early-stage mobilisation
- Remaining duration: Transition to a more site-based management role, focusing on implementation, supervision, and delivery
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to spend approximately 3–4 weeks based in the North of England during the contract
- Remaining duration will be primarily site-based in Cambridge
Ideal Candidate
- Strong experience in M&E project and/or site management
- Proven track record managing subcontractors and delivering complex projects
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage both strategic planning and day-to-day site operations
