Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager / Site Manager for a project based in Cambridge. This role will combine project management and hands-on site management responsibilities, ensuring the successful delivery of M&E works from initiation through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of mechanical and electrical works on site
  • Provide administrative support and coordination for all M&E project activities
  • Liaise closely with subcontractors to ensure readiness and timely commencement of works
  • Manage subcontractor requirements and hold them accountable for performance and deliverables
  • Lead early engagement processes, including planning and programming of works
  • Review, obtain, and monitor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
  • Ensure all works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

Project Phasing

  • Initial 3–4 weeks: Heavily project management focused, including planning, coordination, and early-stage mobilisation
  • Remaining duration: Transition to a more site-based management role, focusing on implementation, supervision, and delivery

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to spend approximately 3–4 weeks based in the North of England during the contract
  • Remaining duration will be primarily site-based in Cambridge

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience in M&E project and/or site management
  • Proven track record managing subcontractors and delivering complex projects
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage both strategic planning and day-to-day site operations
