We’re seeking a highly driven Business Development Manager to accelerate our growth within the UK food and drink manufacturing sector. Key Responsibilities
- Market Intelligence: Conduct detailed research to identify potential clients across the UK food and drink manufacturing sector. Stay informed on industry challenges, trends, and regulatory developments to shape strategic plans.
- Lead Generation & Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain a high-quality pipeline through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and industry events. Proactively seek new business opportunities to support sustained growth.
- Client Engagement & Solutions Selling: Engage potential clients to understand their temperature-controlled logistics needs. Deliver compelling presentations that highlight the value and benefits of our tailored services.
- Consultative Sales Approach: Provide expert advice on how our warehousing and transport solutions can enhance supply chain performance, product integrity, and overall efficiency.
- Proposal & Bid Management: Work with internal teams to create well-structured proposals and bids that address client needs and set us apart from competitors.
- Negotiation & Deal Closure: Lead commercial negotiations, securing mutually beneficial agreements and long-term partnerships.
- Relationship Management: Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, nurturing relationships and identifying opportunities for account growth and referrals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operations, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional customer experience.
- Market & Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activity and evolving market conditions to refine strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Proven success in business development, sales, or account management ideally within food and drink manufacturing, logistics, or temperature-controlled services.
- Strong understanding of temperature-controlled warehousing or transport is highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Target-driven mindset with a track record of achieving results.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Confident using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
