Our client are one of the World’s foremost physical and financial commodity traders. As part of their continuing success within industrial metal markets, they are now looking to add a new Metals Operator to their Metals and Minerals operations desk in London. The focus will be on the trading and logistics of refined metal within Europe, working closely with the trading team on operational insights, issue resolution, and risk mitigation. This is an excellent opportunity with a dynamic and innovative commercial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute trade contracts with counterparties, including delivery
- Performing quantity and quality checks of cargo
- Preparing cargo valuations and pricing details
- Verifying shipping and trade documentation - bills of lading, certificates of origin, invoices, and inspection reports.
- Coordinate end‑to‑end logistics for physical metal trades, covering shipping, warehousing, blending, and customs clearance.
- Liaise with counterparties, freight providers, inspection companies, and internal teams to ensure accurate execution.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory movements, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in operations related to metals and/or minerals trading.
- Understanding of international logistics, Incoterms, and trade documentation.
- Experience of using trading platforms and ERP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
