Our client are a Global trading, structured finance, and investment group with a long-standing presence in London. Due to an increase in business activity throughout 2025, they are now seeking a motivated Credit Analyst to cover base metals. The successful candidate will manage a diverse client credit portfolio, including client relationships whilst partnering closely with traders.
Role and Responsibilities
- Monitor and track global / industry credit events affecting the business.
- Conduct regular credit reviews for all counterparties in the portfolio and assign credit ratings and limits to each counterparty.
- Monitor portfolio credit exposures and daily credit risk reporting and mitigation including limit monitoring, breach escalation and margining.
- Manage and maintain the respective credit insurance policies.
- Provide credit advisory support to the Front Office traders on daily business activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on clients and credit decisions.
- Proactive support of trading desks for each transaction including appropriate negotiation of credit clauses.
Skills and Competencies
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a credit analysis role within the commodities sector.
- Knowledge of the metals trading industry and base metal markets is an advantage.
- Excellent skills in financial analysis and risk assessment.
- Strong understanding of credit principles, credit risk management, control concepts and banking practices.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- A second European language (especially Spanish) is a significant plus.
