Position Summary
The Finance Master Data Governance & Quality Manager is responsible for delivering the governance processes in management of Finance master data objects. Acting as primary data steward for Finance master data, the role ensures all Finance master data changes are managed through the correct governance process and change windows, to the agreed quality and SLAs. Closely working with data owners to agree the data handling and usage requirements addressing data quality issues and ensuring the Finance master data is accurate and fit for purpose. Supporting the businesses in understanding reporting and forecasting requirements for an ever-changing business landscape providing the correct data management subject matter expertise on how and what changes can and should be made to keep integrity of the data and provide correct reporting outputs. Providing operational insights to ensure data is managed correctly throughout its lifecycle.
What you will be doing:
- Governance Framework & Strategy Own the creation and maintenance of Finance master data policies, standards, and processes for managing data throughout its lifecycle. Define who is accountable for specific Finance data assets and establish protocols for how data should be accessed, used, and protected. Develop and lead governance initiatives to improve process and data quality, acting as a responsible Finance data steward. Ensure the Finance data governance framework is proactively managed, meets any regulatory requirements, and is embedded across the organisation. Runs the Finance master data governance process, meetings, and data capture input assessment.
- Data Quality & Integrity Design, measure, and improve data quality standards across the organisation. Ensure the integrity of Finance data between systems and improve the accuracy and quality of data available to stakeholders. Design performance tracking of the Finance master data processes to measure whether data is delivering value as expected. Identify data improvement initiatives and prioritise delivery by working closely with the Finance data owners.
- Business Partnering & Operational Support Provide subject matter expertise (SME) on the management of Finance data used across the organisation. Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to improve the efficiency and value of processes by ensuring the right data is available at the right time without errors. Establish trust by providing confidence that data is reliable and transparently managed, supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Culture & Education Support the development of a data-driven culture through the delivery of training, reporting, and education initiatives related to Finance data. Support business and projects by providing specialised data SME knowledge.
Position qualifications:
- Experience in Finance master data governance, data quality management, or related roles.
- Proven experience with data governance frameworks, data lifecycle management, and Finance regulatory compliance.
- Proven hands-on experience with SAP Finance master data (Cost Centre, Profit Centre, Hierarchy management, GL's, etc).
- Experience of Oracle HFM and DRM solutions.
- Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing relationships with data owners and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead data quality improvement initiatives and implement governance strategies.
- Experience in fostering a data-driven culture.
- Experienced in delivering Continuous improvement initiatives and automation of manual processes.
