Position Summary:

We are specifically looking for Product Design Integration Engineers to work at subsystem and system level where you'll play a vital role in enabling the delivery of our Defence combat strategy for the next 50 years. You would work to design, develop and verify the product subsystem at the Turbine & Combustion, Compressor & Propulsor, Integrated System or Transmission & Structures levels and at the whole Product level.

What you will be doing:

  • Systematically investigating and understanding problems; Safety, Quality, Customer Requirements and Business Requirements using Systems Engineering principles.
  • Understanding our products and their interactions at platform, system, sub-system, component, component feature and manufacturing process level.
  • Defining and documenting requirements, including operational and lifecycle contexts.
  • Defining and interpreting product definition and documentation.
  • Demonstrating ability to engineer complex (electro, fluid, thermal, mechanical) systems.
  • Integrating outward to platform and the customer environment and inwards through product systems, sub-systems and components.
  • Defining creative, robust, optimised solutions managing risk and applying new technology as appropriate to deliver quality within highly regulated industries.
  • Supporting Validation and Verification activities.
  • Creating justifications for release to service.
  • Supporting products in production and service.

Who we are looking for:

  • Degree level qualified in a STEM subject and experience in a relevant engineering environment (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls). Other qualifications, in combination with relevant experience, may also be considered.
  • Experience with electrical machinery (desirable).
  • 3-5 years experience minimum.
  • Highly numerate with good technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking.
  • Excellent communication; written, interpersonal and presentation skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work accurately and at pace.
  • Driven to succeed and can take the lead in identifying project requirements, specifying and executing packages of work.
