We have a fantastic opportunity for a VP Customers to join the Customers & Services team in Civil Aerospace in London Kings Place, Derby or Berlin. The Vice President will lead the overall Rolls-Royce relationship with all Customers and potential Customers within their sub-territory / grouping. You will deliver business performance through focus on customer satisfaction for Rolls-Royce products and services through the complete life cycle, whilst maximizing the sales and cost opportunities, in line with the global Business unit strategy / BPD.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, on average three days per week.

What you will be doing:

In this role, you will manage the overall customer interface through the regional structure, developing organisational and cultural understanding between Rolls-Royce and its customers such that our business propositions deliver value to both throughout the product life cycle, you will also:

  • Establish, with the Business Unit a sales and service strategy for the customers within the sub-territory / grouping that forms part of the global sales strategy for the Business unit.
  • Implement the strategy with the sub-territory / grouping to achieve the specified business goals.
  • Lead the multifunctional team allocated to the customer.
  • Operate a robust, high performing structure for the designated territory with strong internal controls and accountabilities, operating with initiative, discipline and integrity.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the customer's view of Rolls-Royce and its competitors to effectively provide market intelligence to the business and effectively anticipate the needs of the customer.
  • Develop and communicate the 1, 3 and 5-year Strategy for the Partner & Develop Customers.
  • Responsible for ensuring that risk management and compliance standards are rigorously applied within the sub territory / grouping.
  • When the customer is not the ultimate end user of the Rolls-Royce product, maintaining close relationships with the prime contractor's / systems integrator's / partner customer focused groups and product development teams to identify and coordinate sales opportunities.

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the applicable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:

  • Qualified to at least degree level or equivalent industry experience.
  • A good understanding of Rolls-Royce products and services.
  • Experience in at least one previous customer-facing role, such as Customer Management, Services, Commercial or Sales.
  • Demonstrated business acumen skills, and an ability to quickly grasp the value of different levers in a negotiation to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Relationship management experience, and an ability to find mutually acceptable outcomes to customer challenges.
  • Ability to consult, collaborate with, and influence across all levels, including leadership, both within and external to Rolls-Royce.
  • Comfortable challenging legacy thinking and driving behavioural change.
  • Possess the aptitude to lead a multi-disciplinary, diverse regional team to deliver agreed objectives.
  • Good project management skills, and an ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Strategic thinking, and an ability to anticipate customer needs from a good understanding of their medium-long term direction.
