Overview
In this role you will drive health, safety and environmental excellence across the Trentham site, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. You will partner with site leadership to strengthen governance, risk management and environmental performance, including the effluent treatment plant. You will lead incident response, data analysis and training to raise HSE standards across the site and potentially other Midlands locations. Responsibilities
- Lead and support identification, assessment and mitigation of HSE risks with governance and timely closure of actions.
- Act as a visible HSE leader, promoting proactive safety and environmental culture and supporting leadership teams.
- Govern environmental management system and effluent treatment plant (ETP) governance.
- Establish, support and monitor fit-for-purpose HSE governance arrangements and report on risks and performance.
- Identify legal, regulatory and company HSE requirements, perform gap analyses and interface with regulators.
- Manage site environmental compliance including permits and discharges across Midlands sites as required.
- Develop, deliver and review emergency response plans, ensuring site preparedness and continuous improvement.
- Lead and support incident response, investigation and reporting with corrective actions and learning.
- Collect, validate and analyse HSE performance data to inform decision-making and risk-based planning.
- Deliver and support assurance activities, inspections and audits, coaching leaders and driving improvement.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to build HSE capability and support training and development.
Key requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IOSH)
- Demonstrated generalist HSE experience in a complex operational environment
