As Tax Manager, you will join a dynamic, fast‑moving finance team within an agile business. Your primary objectives will be to manage and improve tax processes, ensure compliance obligations are met, and act as a key and trusted business partner to the wider team. This holistic role covers various aspects of tax and transfer pricing and is instrumental in shaping and implementing RRPF’s Tax Risk Management Strategy. You will report to RRPF’s Director – Financial Reporting & Tax and will regularly interact with the CFO and other senior management.

What you will be doing:

  • Serve as the tax subject matter expert, owning tax business processes and providing tax advice on transactions and projects.
  • Manage UK and international direct and indirect tax compliance, ensuring all deadlines are met. This includes performing some work in‑house, managing external advisers, and collaborating with the finance team.
  • Manage tax for group reporting and provisioning and provide input for financial statement disclosures.
  • Partner with the business to coordinate tax advice for transactions and ad hoc projects.
  • Build and maintain in‑house tax knowledge, covering UK (e.g., long funding leases, CIR rules) and international tax (e.g., withholding tax issues, closing locations).
  • Own and update tax process manuals for compliance, VAT, Intrastat, and act as risk owner for tax risks.
  • Develop and manage RRPF’s tax risk register, oversee SAO reporting, and advise senior management on current and emerging tax risks (e.g., Pillar 2, DAC6, BEPS).

Position Qualifications:

  • Qualified chartered tax accountant (CTA) or chartered accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA) with post‑qualification experience in a tax manager role (advisory or compliance).
  • We will also consider strong candidates that are at Tax Assistance Manager or Senior Tax Associate level looking to step into the Tax Manager role.
  • Strong UK tax technical knowledge, including tax accounting.
  • Experience with international tax rules and advising on international transactions.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Strong general accounting knowledge: experience with multi‑GAAP and US GAAP is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of US tax regulations is beneficial.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate key risks when business partnering.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications; financial modelling skills are a plus.
  • Excellent written communication, able to distil the “story behind the numbers.”
  • Strong teamwork, communication, commercial acumen, attention to detail, and a can‑do attitude.
  • Familiarity with Sun Systems, Hyperion, Salesforce, and accounts production software is a plus.
  • Experience or interest in the leasing, aviation, or airline industry is advantageous.

Regional Benefits:

  • Work in a safety‑first environment where doing the right thing and keeping it simple are core principles.
  • Join a culture that values making a real difference through your work.
  • Develop your career as a mid‑career professional blending technical expertise with strong personal qualities.
  • Thrive in a role that encourages integrity, accountability, resilience, and curiosity.
  • Collaborate and build relationships in a team‑focused environment while also working independently.
  • Take initiative, lead, and make smart decisions with confidence and support.
  • Grow through continuous learning, openness to improvement, and exposure to challenging opportunities.
