What you will be doing: Rolls-Royce is looking for a Sub System Design Integrator - Controls System to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team. As a Sub System Design Integrator you will be responsible for supporting the Control System Lead in covering the scope of being the customer contact to the project (business) responsible for the delivery of the program in terms of technical and program leadership. This includes the accountability for managing the technical risk, managing the program to ensure compliance to quality system, adherence to the plan and budgets and resource management. This role reports to the Control System Lead for the project.
Key Accountabilities:
- Design and implement complex control system solutions to meet the high-level requirements, constraints or standards.
- Identify and rectify issues during software/hardware integration testing and support the commissioning team during equipment/software installation.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation to a standard compatible with engineering best practice.
- Be the technical support to the supply chain, including the assessment of electrical, software and control system components and design definition updates.
- Lead or support engagements with either internal or external customers related to queries, service events and SARS and Red Top Closures.
- Ensure compliance to process throughout the life cycle activity for the assigned team, including as appropriate any third parties/MSP's working on behalf of the area.
- Ensure that world class rules, tools and methods are developed and utilized effectively across the group for the accountable domain.

- Be educated to degree level or equivalent in Systems, System Design, Software or electrical field with experience in software engineering techniques.

- Have excellent communication/influencing skills, being able to clearly and effectively articulate ideas, plans and priorities to others.
- Be able to plan and drive commitments, delivering to the right quality, on time, and to budget.
It would be advantageous if you:
- Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw) or similar SysML modelling software.
- Are professionally registered as a Chartered Engineer or be working towards gaining a professional status.
