We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to join Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby. What you will be doing
- Creating component, assembly, and system designs with associated through-life justification, meeting requirements for life, cost, availability, and safety margins.
- Developing full life cycle design solutions from concept, design, manufacture, operation, to disposal.
- Integrating cross-disciplinary engineering concepts and collaborating across manufacturing engineering, simulation, materials, testing, and supply chain functions.
- Documenting and verifying information against sound mechanical engineering practices and references.
- Presenting at technical reviews before peers and expert panels.
- Publishing safety and technical reports for customer and regulatory scrutiny.

Qualifications and experience
- Experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably with exposure to process plant, mechanical components, machining, tooling, handling and lifting, special purpose machinery, pressure vessels, boilers, or assembly processes.
- CAD design software experience.
- Experience from industries such as Civil Nuclear, Marine, Petro-Chemical, Oil & Gas, or Special Purpose Machinery.
- Engineering qualification or relevant experience (Chartered, Degree, HND, HNC, or Apprentice Trained).
